Veterans’ Echoes – A New Section to Keep Their Memory Alive

Some retire. Some pass away. And then there are all those we refuse to leave in silence.

Because a firefighter doesn’t disappear with their last watch, the Association of Friends of the Firefighters’ Museum of La Réunion and the Indian Ocean is launching a new section: Veterans’ Echoes.

This is a space to say thank you, to tell stories, to bear witness. A faded photograph, a firehouse anecdote, a life journey, even just a first name… Every piece matters. Retirees, the departed, fire station icons or humble companions along the way – each one deserves a line, an image, a shared memory.

Did you know a former firefighter? Are you family? Did you serve alongside them?
Send us what you wish to pass on: a date, a story, an image, a few words. Together, let us give voice to the echo of those who served.

To read, to enrich, to share. Because they are part of our history.
Because their flame still burns.
