The AAMSPLROI Launches Its Publishing House
The Association of the Friends of the Firefighters’ Museum of La Réunion and the Indian Ocean officially opens its publishing house.
This new structure continues the work carried out over the past years to preserve, study, and transmit the history of firefighters from La Réunion and the Indian Ocean.
A mission: to produce and share firefighter heritage
The publishing house will publish works dedicated to:
• the general history of fire services;
• local histories by municipality;
• life stories and biographies;
• collections of testimonies;
• annotated historical sources;
• risk culture and prevention.
It relies on a complete set of internal documents—editorial charter, editorial process, rights policy, graphic charter, ethical framework—ensuring consistency, scientific quality, and legal compliance.
A dedicated editorial governance
The structure is organised around an editorial directorate, an editorial coordinator, and a specialised committee for sensitive or scientific manuscripts.
Each collection will gradually receive its own editor-in-chief to guarantee coherence within each editorial line.
Projects already under development
Several books are currently being written:
• historical syntheses;
• territorial monographs;
• biographies;
• editions of old sources;
• works dedicated to risk culture.
The first publications will be released once the editorial work is completed.
Submitting a manuscript
Authors wishing to propose a project may consult the page Submit a manuscript, which details the submission protocol, editorial criteria, and confidentiality rules.
A dedicated email address centralises all proposals:

The creation of this publishing house marks an important step in the enhancement of Réunionese firefighter heritage and confirms the cultural mission of the association.
