Our book dedicated to the firefighters of La R\u00e9union opens with a powerful image, designed as a manifesto. Three periods meet on this cover, and three faces express the continuity of the same commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the centre, an archive photograph shows a 14 July parade from the 1950s\u20131960s. Public pride, republican duty, collective memory: this image reflects the place of firefighters in the island\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the left, Lieutenant Joseph Idmont, wearing a traditional helmet and leather jacket. Twenty-six years in Saint-Louis, fifteen years as station officer in Les Avirons, now retired. He represents the elders, loyalty to public service, and steady support for the museum since the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the right, Corporal Isabelle Moutaye. A passionate young woman who became a professional firefighter in Saint-Pierre, holding a QHSSE degree and an ultra-trail runner (Diagonale des Fous 2023 with the ECLAS association). She symbolises youth, self-improvement, and the balance between strength and sensitivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the top, the Civil Security Dash 8 reminds us of today\u2019s powerful resources, inter-service coordination, and the State\u2019s commitment alongside the island\u2019s firefighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
