Signing of an agreement for a Creole-language book on the stories of Réunion firefighters
The Association of Friends of the Firefighters’ Museum of La Réunion and the Indian Ocean has signed a collaboration agreement with Mrs Judicaëlle Boyer to produce a new book in Creole, dedicated to real-life anecdotes from Réunion firefighters and SDIS personnel.
The aim is twofold: to preserve a largely unknown intangible heritage and to promote the Creole language through a collection of authentic stories, each linked to a Creole expression. The project continues the association’s heritage work and its statutory commitment to cultural transmission.
The book, provisionally titled Kozman ek la lang, zistoirs le SDIS La Réunion, will be the association’s first publication written entirely in Creole. It will later contribute to the documentary collection of the future museum and to its cultural outreach activities.
